Domjur, Howrah, became a battlefield on Sunday morning when clashes erupted between two groups over illegal construction in Munshidanga Sheikh Pada, Block No. 2 of Bankara. The conflict began after Farooq and his associates attacked the house of Sheikh Mofizul, alias Mintu, a local panchayat member, allegedly in retaliation for Mintu's demand to halt the illegal construction. The confrontation escalated as Mintu's supporters retaliated by attacking Farooq's house, resulting in widespread bombing and vandalism of several shops.

Police from Domjur police station arrived in large numbers to control the situation, but the escalating violence necessitated the deployment of paramilitary forces. Multiple arrests were made from both factions, and at least three individuals were injured in the clashes. Farooq, previously a CPM supporter, had lost influence in the area and joined the Trinamool, while Mintu remains a Trinamool panchayat member. The incident has left the area in a state of terror, with heavy bombing and brick-throwing contributing to the chaos.
